The spies of the Leung Corporation are after Toby Wong. Toby got the prototype of a biotechnical implant in his chest, to enhance his fighting ability and therefore become the perfect assassin. Toby quit the Corporation because he fell in love with a woman who was working against the Chinese Government and therefore against the Leung Corporation. With the help of the unemployed musician, Malik, he tries to escape the hunters and to reach LA where he can sell the implant and finally get over his past. A dramatic fight starts with great Martial Art sequences.

Mark Dacascos was not doubled in this movie. He got several injuries during the shooting, in a few scenes you can see the he was stitched up over the right eye.

interview33.jpg (6663 Byte)There are two versions of the movie "Drive". The Producer's Cut, which is the official US-version. It is only 95 minutes and mainly contains the fight scenes, the background story is mostly cut out.

And there is the "Director's Cut", which has a running time of 112 minutes. It contains the whole story and is definitely the better version. If you don't like "Drive" then you have probably seen the "Producer's Cut"

Mark Dacascos said in every interview that he, himself, prefers the "Director's Cut".

You can still order it at amazon.co.uk (Attention: Region 2 DVD)

Drive won the Minami Toshiko Award 1997 and the Best Film award at the 3. Annual Fant-Asia Film Festival in Montreal in 1998..
